Prof. Jiang Guo

Dalian University of Technology, China

Profile: Professor, doctoral supervisor, doctor of engineering, University of Tokyo, Japan, winner of the National Overseas High-level Talents Introduction Program-Youth Project, and top-notch young talents of Liaoning "Xing Liao Talents Program". Before returning to China, he worked as a researcher in Japan Institute of Physical Chemistry and Singapore Science and Technology Bureau. Mainly engaged in precision/ultra-precision machining, optical manufacturing, laser processing, metal substrate construction and other aspects of research. The research results were rated as the research highlights of 2018 A*STAR, and more than 80 academic papers were published in famous international journals in the fields of manufacturing, friction and optics, and more than 80 international and national invention patents were authorized. He has presided over more than 20 projects such as JSPS Youth Fund, General Projects of National Natural Science Foundation and National Key R&D Plan "Key Scientific Issues of Transformational Technology". He has won more than 10 awards, such as the Technical Promotion Award of Japan Machine Tool Promotion Association and the first prize of academic achievements such as Dalian University of Technology. He is currently a senior member of China Mechanical Engineering Society (deputy director-general of Extreme Manufacturing Branch, member of Micro-Nano Manufacturing Technology Branch), member of American Society of Precision Engineering (ASPE) and European Society of Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (euspen).

Profile: Dr. Shamik Tiwari is an experienced teaching and research professor with a strong background of twenty years in computer vision, data science, predictive and statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep passion for understanding and solving complex problems in these fields, and he is committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge through research and sharing his expertise with the next generation of students. In the realm of computer vision, he has extensive knowledge of image processing techniques, object detection, recognition, and medical informatics algorithms. He has worked on various projects involving computer vision applications such as Alzheimer’s disease detection, Monkeypox detection, Diabetic Retinopathy Screening, facial recognition, object segmentation, and scene understanding. His research contributions have been published in reputable conferences and journals, showcasing his ability to contribute to the advancement of this field.

Profile: Dr Taimoor Asim (PhD, FHEA, MIMechE, CEng) is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering, Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen (UK). He joined RGU in 2019 as a Lecturer in mechanical Engineering. He has previously worked as Senior Research Fellow (2013-2019) in the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield (UK) and as a Lecturer (2008-2010) in the Technology Department at the University of Lahore (Pakistan).Dr Asim has worked extensively on Renewable Energy Systems and his area of expertise is the application of Aerodynamics to Wind Turbines and Wall-Bounded flows. His research interests include application of CFD to Thermofluidic systems, Turbomachines and Fluid-Structure Interactions. He has published more than 50 research articles in high-impact journals and reviews articles for a number of Q1 journals. He has published more than 50 articles in national/international conferences and delivered a number of keynote speeches at such events.
